The primary goal of this train-the-trainer module is to introduce and explore Bright Futures in Practice: Nutrition and to apply a model for planning community-based nutrition services using Moving to the Future: Developing Community-Based Nutrition Services. The materials were designed to make it easy for you to become a trainer within your own community! The curriculum is designed as a one-day "training-to-go" that you can adapt to your own community's interests, assets, and needs and can expand to be a more in-depth 2 or 2-1/2 day training, if desired.

The module includes: the training program manual, PowerPoint presentation, videocassette, and the Bright Futures, Moving to the Future, and Healthy People 2010 reference materials. The training program manual was developed by Susanne Gregory, MPH, who was with the Virginia Department of Health at the time of the project.

The program was delivered across the 8 southeastern states in Spring 2000 and was made possible through a collaborative Public Health Nutrition training grant to The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and The University of Tennessee from the Health Resources and Services Administration/Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (MCJ-000965-21-0).
