Department of Nutrition Graduate Seminar

The Nutrition Graduate Seminar occurs in both Fall and Spring semesters.  The Seminar provides graduate students with the opportunity to discuss research being conducted by faculty and graduate students in the Nutrition Department.  The Nutrition Graduate Seminar also provides graduate students an opportunity to present on recently published nutrition research, facilitating breadth of knowledge in current nutrition research.

The format of the Seminar is for presenters to conduct a brief PowerPoint presentation on a current nutrition topic.  This presentation is followed by audience participation, in which students and faculty ask questions of the presenter so that a better understanding of the presented topic can be achieved.  Abstracts with references are distributed prior to each seminar.  This process affords graduate students the chance to practice a professional research presentation prior to presenting research at a professional meeting.

At the start of each semester, a schedule of topics to be presented, along with the name of the presenter, is sent out to all students in the department.

All graduate students are expected to attend Seminar regardless of whether or not they are or are not receiving credit for Seminar.

FALL – Wednesday, 1:25-2:15 p.m. – Jessie Harris Building

SPRING – Monday, 3:35-4:25 p.m. – Jessie Harris Building
