Research

Professor Donohoe's research consists of dietary chemoprevention toward colorectal cancer as it relates to the microbial-derived metabolite called butyrate. Specifically, his goal is to identify the functional significance of butyrate (as it relates to the microbiome) in the colon and the mechanism by it protects against tumorigenesis.
